September 17-18,Jilin City Vocational and Technical College(JCVC)–An 8-person delegation from JCVC,comprising Li Meng,Director of the Employment Department;Zhang Xu,Dean of the School of Medicine;Xu Shiguang,Administrative Vice Dean of the School of Medicine;Huang Ze,Director of the Student Affairs Office;Yin Xiaoxu,Teaching Secretary;along with several teachers and counselors,conducted inspections at six off-campus internship bases.These included Changchun Central Hospital,Changchun People's Hospital,Changchun Hospital of Traditional Chinese Medicine,Changchun Sacred Heart Jishan Hospital,FAW General Hospital of Jilin Province,and Jilin Provincial Rehabilitation Center for Persons with Disabilities.
The inspection aimed to gain an in-depth understanding of the internship status of the college's first cohort of medical students scheduled to graduate in 2025.Through site visits and symposiums,the team collected feedback from the internship units regarding the college's teaching practices and gathered students'opinions on the clinical instruction provided by the hospitals,while also coordinating solutions to relevant issues.All six hospitals highly commended the performance of JCVC's interns and expressed their commitment to strengthening medical-educational collaboration and deepening cooperation with the college.
On the morning of September 17,Dean Zhang Xu led the team to their first stop,Changchun People's Hospital.They held in-depth discussions with Vice President Guo Junpeng and frontline clinical instructors including Jia Hongyu,Qin Xiaona,Ji Di,Zhang Yingying,and Liu Jian regarding internship development.The hospital provided positive feedback on the performance of JCVC's interns and acknowledged the standardization and professionalism of the college's teaching work.Dean Zhang Xu expressed gratitude for the hospital's teaching philosophy of"granting autonomy while maintaining oversight"and looked forward to using this opportunity to deepen cooperation and jointly explore new models for cultivating diverse medical talents.
Subsequently,Dean Zhang Xu's team visited Changchun Central Hospital.They proceeded directly to clinical and medical technology departments to observe interns'practical work and learning arrangements firsthand,gaining a clear understanding of the frontline internship teaching situation.It was noted that the students assigned to Changchun Central Hospital were all outstanding individuals selected through individual interviews conducted by the School of Medicine,hence the college paid particular attention to their performance.According to hospital feedback,among the over 1,000 interns currently received,JCVC students stood out for their overall performance,with special praise given to three interns:Ma Yi,Xu Litong,and Li Jiaze.
On the morning of September 18,Dean Zhang Xu led the team to Changchun Hospital of Traditional Chinese Medicine.A symposium was held with hospital leadership and representatives from the Nursing Department to discuss the internship situation of the college's first cohort of nursing students,who also attended the meeting.During the symposium,students actively shared their internship gains and growth reflections.The hospital recognized the overall performance of JCVC's interns and expressed interest in collaborating with JCVC to establish a two-way teaching model of"bringing classrooms into the hospital and mentors into the campus."This aims to facilitate clinical teachers stepping onto the academic podium and promote students'early,frequent,and repeated clinical exposure.After the meeting,Dean Zhang Xu communicated face-to-face with the students,Get a detailed understanding of their work,study,and living conditions.,emphasized internship safety,instructed students to strictly adhere to operational procedures and follow hospital arrangements,while encouraging them to study diligently,ask questions,and cherish the internship opportunity.He reminded them to communicate promptly with college teachers if encountering difficulties,assuring them that the college remains their strong backbone.
Later,Dean Zhang Xu's team visited Changchun Sacred Heart Jishan Hospital.As the hospital receiving the largest number of interns from the college,only a few students were on duty that day due to some participating in off-site hospital physical examination tasks.The hospital specifically commended three students by name–Zhang Haoyuan,Zhang Tianci,and Ren Jiao–praising them for their"standardized操作,effective communication,and proactive attitude."Dean Zhang Xu thanked the hospital for providing a high-quality internship platform and the clinical instructors for their careful guidance.He encouraged the present students to cherish the internship opportunity and strive to be retained by the hospital upon completion of their internship.
At 13:00 on September 18,Dean Zhang Xu's team arrived at FAW General Hospital of Jilin Province.It was noted that the JCVC students interning at this hospital were all outstanding individuals who had participated in and won awards in provincial skills competitions,possessing strong professional competence.The hospital highly affirmed the quality of interns sent by JCVC,describing the students as"diligent,eager to learn,and consistently focused,"and sincerely invited the college to arrange for students to start their internships earlier next year.
At 14:00 on September 18,Dean Zhang Xu's team arrived at the Jilin Provincial Rehabilitation Center for Persons with Disabilities.During the symposium,the hospital introduced the overall situation of JCVC's interns and recognized the performance of the rehabilitation therapy technology interns.Based on the hospital's feedback,both parties exchanged views on issues encountered during practical training.Subsequently,Director Liu and Teacher Dong accompanied the JCVC delegation to various departments to observe students'on-duty internship situations.Dean Zhang Xu advised students on site:"Turn standardization into muscle memory,shoulder responsibility as a professional belief,and cherish every hands-on opportunity."

Every step reveals a lesson,every visit is filled with care.This internship inspection represents a significant initiative by Jilin City Vocational and Technical College to focus on student growth during internships and deepen college-hospital cooperation.Moving forward,the college will use this as an opportunity to continuously follow up on student internship progress,normalize internship base visits,create lists from identified issues,and document the effectiveness of improvements,thereby promoting two-way linkage between the"classroom and the ward"and laying a solid foundation for cultivating high-quality medical talents.
