On September 16,the fourth Overseas Friendship Study Program(for Overseas Chinese Leaders),organized by the China Federation of Overseas Chinese Associations and hosted by the Sichuan Federation of Overseas Chinese Associations and Sichuan University,commenced at Sichuan University.Seventy overseas Chinese leaders from 12 countries and regions,including the UAE,Oman,Bahrain,the Philippines,Cambodia,Laos,Nepal,Saudi Arabia,Thailand,India,Malaysia,and Bangladesh,participated in the program.Sun Jin,a recipient of the National May Day Labor Medal,Standing Committee Member of the Jilin Provincial Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference,winner of the Outstanding Contribution to Charity Award in China,Executive President of the China Shandong Business Association,Vice President of the Thai-Chinese Overseas Chinese Business Association,and Chairman of SJ International Education Group,was invited to attend the study program.
Liu Yiqin,Vice Chairman of the China Federation of Overseas Chinese Associations and Chairman of the Sichuan Federation of Overseas Chinese Associations,extended a warm welcome to the participating overseas Chinese leaders and expressed sincere gratitude to Sichuan University and all the staff responsible for organizing the program.She also highlighted the unique features of this session in terms of its theme,content,and significance.During the opening ceremony,Liu Yiqin stated that she hoped everyone would seize this valuable learning opportunity to gain knowledge,broaden their horizons,and achieve meaningful insights.She encouraged participants to make new friends during the program,promote exchanges between their respective overseas Chinese communities and their host countries,China,and Sichuan,and build a collaborative platform for overseas friendship based on shared consultation,construction,and benefits.Additionally,she urged the attendees to share China's stories,disseminate its excellent culture,and widely communicate China's vision of peace,friendship,and common development in their host countries.This would help deepen cooperation and friendly exchanges between host countries and China,strengthen public support,and unite overseas Chinese communities to contribute ideas and efforts for the mutual development of China and their host countries,achieving win-win cooperation.
On behalf of the China Federation of Overseas Chinese Associations,Sang Baoshan,Deputy Director of the Federation's Liaison Department,warmly welcomed the overseas Chinese leaders who had traveled from afar and expressed heartfelt thanks to the leaders and faculty of the Sichuan Federation of Overseas Chinese Associations and Sichuan University for their strong support.Sang Baoshan shared three hopes for the participants:first,to contribute to the nation's development as promoters of national rejuvenation;second,to uphold the spirit of hard work as shapers of a positive image;and third,to promote Chinese culture as facilitators of international friendship.
It is reported that the one-week study program includes courses on China's politics,diplomacy,economy,culture,and overseas Chinese affairs.The instructors will provide insights into China's economic development trends,share innovative business thinking,and organize special activities such as field visits for the"China-Arab Economic and Trade Cultural Exchange Summit"in various cities and prefectures.
